I’m Dreaming of a Pukey Christmas

We had the sickness. Luckily it only hit after Christmas day. Except for poor Charlie.

We thought it was the combination of early morning milk and some orange from his stocking – Charlie was sick, sick. Then sick some more. All of our guests had arrived and dinner was about to hit the table when I got our boys up from their naps. Charlie had it stuck – dried – all in his hair and on his neck. Caking his shirt. The smell of sour milk and citrus. A quick bath and it was remedied.

Christmas dinner was fantastic! We had Christmas crackers adorning the dinner table – so once we sat down to eat we all cracked them, told our silly jokes, wore our crowns and enjoyed the silly toys. The food tasted great. Jonny and I are a fantastic cooking duo!

However, the sickness hit Jonny early Sunday morning. After being awake several hours and puking so much, he finally went back to sleep. I was fine until after breakfast… Then not so well. The rest of Sunday consisted of gatorade and a little bit of chicken broth. Jonny and I just sat around all day and stared at our children playing with their new toys. We all napped for 3 hours. That night we did have a lovely time watching White Christmas with the kids. Charlie went to bed half-way through and Dig got to stay up “late” and eat popcorn and drink “gator juice.” I think he had a great time.

Thankfully the sickness is gone from our home. I was the last to get better, finally perking up last night and eating a big mac! It was naughty, but it made up for my serious calorie deficiency from the day before.

We lost weight this Christmas, but I wouldn’t recommend it in this fashion.
